The Cyprus Foundations Administration (KVI), one of the most ancient institutions of Cyprus, attaches importance to the history and cultural values of the Turkish people and contributes to their protection and preservation.

For this purpose, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, KVI has compiled the memories of İlhan Aloğlu, who participated in the Peace Operation, into a book. This study, written by İlhan Aloğlu, who witnessed an important phase of the Turkish Cypriots' struggle for freedom and existence, is titled “Cyprus Veteran İlhan Aloğlu's 1974 Peace Operation War Record (14 July – 26 August 1974)”. İlhan Aloğlu kept his diary during his participation in the Operation, shared his observations on many issues and completed his diary by adding his photographs.

KVİ, on the other hand, has turned the notes of İlhan Aloğlu, who witnessed an important part of the 1974 Peace Operation, into a book 50 years later and presented them to the Turkish Cypriot people. KVİ has fulfilled its historical responsibility by publishing these notes, recognising that the 1974 Peace Operation brought peace and freedom to the Turkish Cypriot people.

Participating in the 1974 Peace Operation and supporting the Turkish Cypriots' struggle for freedom, Marine Infantry Colonel İlhan Aloğlu is one of the first group of officers to land in Kyrenia and bears the title of Cyprus Veteran. 50 years later, KVİ, which has the duty to deliver this work to you, our valuable people, commemorates all our Mehmetçiks and Mujahideen who participated in the 20 July Happy Peace Operation in the spiritual person of our Veteran who passed away.

On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the 1974 Peace Operation, we wish God's mercy to all our Mehmetçiks and Mujahideen who passed away, and we commemorate our martyrs who established the TRNC and contributed to the struggle for the existence of the Turkish Cypriot people and sacrificed their lives for this purpose, and we remember them with gratitude and gratitude.
