The Foundation Paying Attention to the Interior Design and Cleanliness of Historical Artifacts.

He was known as Köprülüzade. He was a sensitive Ottoman governor in charge of Van, Diyarbakir and its environs.

Who is this governor?

Abdullah Pasha bin Mustafa Pasha.

He would never stay idle in the city, often dressed in disguise, that is, without showing himself in formal attire, he would travel all over the city and follow the situation of the citizens. If there was a glitch in the city, he would shout out instructions to fix it immediately. Again, one day, he wanted to visit the mausoleum in the garden of a mosque in Diyarbakir, which he entered for worship. When he entered, he realized that the situation was not pleasant at all. The paint was peeling from the dampness and the walls were moldy. The lampholders were in rust. The iron railings surrounding the wall of the tomb were rotting.

He turned to his entourage:

-Who is the caretaker of this blessed place? Don't you have a regular? Who is interested in these places?

– His Excellency the Governor; we couldn't have them cared for; There's a bit of a problem with the budget.

-Why not come to the province? Why isn't a precaution required?

Then he continued to explore the surrounding area; Apart from the tomb, the school where the hafizes read and the iron of the walls near it were also in need of repair… The interior decoration of the mosque was also damaged.

Mustafa Pasha, while leaving this historical complex with sadness, decided that it was necessary to establish a foundation that would constantly maintain and repair the interior and exterior designs of the heirlooms of his ancestors…

He established a foundation in Diyarbakır. He also wrote the following conditions on the foundation's deed:

“… Let the parts of historical artifacts that need paint be painted every year. If repair is needed, get it repaired. The decoration of the places where the decoration is damaged can be skillfully renewed. The rusted, machined parts should be lubricated after being wiped. In addition, the roads around these works and used by the public should be repaired in accordance with their originality and beauty.
