The Cyprus Foundations Administration Signs New Collaborations for Our Elders

The Director General of the Cyprus Foundations Administration (Evkaf), Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, hosted Dr. Kemal Aydın, President of the Ibn Sina Institute (ISE) and the World Aging Council, at his office.

Dr. Aydın, who came to the island for the preparations of the “Elderly-Friendly Northern Cyprus Program,” discussed the work with Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer.

The Elderly-Friendly Northern Cyprus Program aims to prepare for our rapidly aging population by creating state policies that pay more attention to environmental, economic, and social factors affecting the health and welfare of elderly adults across cities, districts, towns, and villages in Northern Cyprus.
In the continuation of the meeting, Tümer discussed the organization of the "Healthy Aging and Intergenerational Solidarity Week" program, which will take place between June 15 and 21, and decided to hold an Elderly Care Workshop to develop the "Community-Based Care Services Master Plan" for the active and healthy aging of our aging society and the development of quality care services.

Furthermore, during the meeting, collaborations that could be undertaken in the context of the local applications of the “Second United Nations World Assembly on Ageing 2002 Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing” invited as observers by the World Aging Council, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (2030), and the World Health Organization (WHO) Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021-2030) program on foundation civilization and health issues were also discussed.
