Cyprus Foundations Administration General Director Prof. Dr. Mustafa TUMER
Prof. Dr. Mustafa TÜMER has been teaching courses in the fields of Research Methods, Business Statistics, Marketing Management and Small Business Management in both undergraduate and graduate programs at Eastern Mediterranean University since the 1994-95 academic year. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Economics and his master's degree in MBA from Eastern Mediterranean University in 1993, he received his PhD in Marketing Management from Uludağ University and graduated in November 1999. He started working as a full-time faculty member at Eastern Mediterranean University in February 2000. He served in various administrative positions at Eastern Mediterranean University. He served as the Institute Director in the 2017-2018 academic year and as the Head of the Department of Business Administration between 2010 and 2017. Prof. Dr. Tümer served as Rector at the Cyprus Social Sciences University in Nicosia between 1 August 2017 and 1 August 2020, and returned to his position at the Eastern Mediterranean University Department of Business Administration on 1 August 2020. Prof. Tümer was appointed as the Deputy Rector between 25 September 2023 and 23 October 2023, with the recommendation of the Eastern Mediterranean University Senate and the decision of the Foundation Board of Directors. On November 1, 2023, he served as the Vice Rector in charge of Promotion and Corporate Communications by the decision of the Eastern Mediterranean University Foundation Board of Directors.
In addition to his professional career as an academic, he has also provided consultancy services to Chambers of Industry and small businesses in different sectors. He has served on various committees in both the public and private sectors. The main committees he has served on are: Privatization Commission (Ministry of Economy), SME Advisory Board (Ministry of Economy), ICSB (Internaitonal Council for Small Business) and ECSB (European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship). He has been the Cyprus representative at the ECSB since 2009. .
Prof. Dr. Tümer has participated and presented his work in international academic conferences in many countries (England, United States, Hungary, Ireland, Turkey, Switzerland, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, etc.). He has publications in many national and international journals. He successfully conducted and graduated 46 master's theses and 4 doctoral theses. He is currently supervising 3 PhD and 4 Master's theses. Prof. Dr. Tümer went to the United States twice with a Fulbright scholarship (2004 and 2011) and during his stay, he attended and gave seminars at George Washington University, Babson College, New Hampshire University, San Diego State University and California State University Pomona universities.
Prof. Dr. Tümer has also taught short-term modular Master's and PhD courses at many universities in Italy (University of Naples Frederico II), Saudi Arabia (Prince Sultan College, Abha) and Iran (Sharif University of Technology). He established GİMER (Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center) at Eastern Mediterranean University in 2011 and handed over his duties on December 22, 2023. He has actually carried out or participated in 14 research projects, both public (TRNC Ministry of Economy, Cyprus Foundations Administration) and private (Cypriot Turkish Chamber of Industry). Prof. Dr. Tümer served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Foundations Administration (EVKAF) between July 2022 and 21 December 2023. Prof. Tümer was appointed as the director of the Foundations Organization and Religious Affairs Department by the decision of the Council of Ministers dated December 21, 2023.
Prof. Dr. Tümer was born in Nicosia in 1967, is married and has a son.
