The Cyprus Foundations Administration has taken a series of measures to prevent its tenants from being victims, taking into account the economic difficulties due to Covid-19. Tenants' rent delay increases for March, April and May were cancelled, while renters whose workplaces were closed were offered the option of 6 monthly installments or 25% discount. In addition, until the end of 2020, 25% discount on rents paid in advance will continue.

The full text of the resolutions approved by the Council of Ministers is as follows:

Within the framework of the measures taken due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the Council of Ministers approved the following decision of the Board of Directors of the Foundations Organization and Religious Affairs Department, dated 11.5.2020 and numbered K/122/2020, in order to minimize the grievances of both the administrations and the tenants.

1- No late fee for the rents of the foundations administration for the months of March, April and May 2020,

2- Within the framework of the aforementioned measures due to Covid-2019, the following decisions regarding rent payments are implemented to the tenants of the Foundations administration, whose activities were stopped by the decision of the Council of Ministers, and to all the residence tenants of the Foundations administration;

a) To be obliged to pay the rental fees for March, April, May 2020 in equal installments starting from June 2020, within a maximum of 6 (six) months,

b) A 25% discount will be applied if they pay the entire rental price of April 2020 in advance, by the end of May 2020 at the latest,

c) A 15% discount will be applied if they pay the entire rental price of April 2020 in advance, by the end of June 2020 at the latest,

d) A 25% discount will be applied if they pay the rental fees for the months of May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December 2020 in advance, every month,

e) Tenants who have paid any rental fee for the months of April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December 2020 before the above decisions are taken, will be deducted from the rent in the first month they have to pay. In addition, for those who have annual rental fees, the discount amount will be calculated as monthly rent with the rate of 1/12 for each month it covers, and the discount amount they will benefit from will be deducted from the rental price they will pay for two years;

f) The applications in the 1st and 2nd articles above cover the lease agreements, but they are not applied to the operating agreements.
