“Halk Foundation shares the concerns of families living in the Life Site and whose family members have to live in nursing homes, and is deeply saddened by the fact that individuals do not receive the care they deserve.

The primary aim of the Foundations Administration is to ensure the health, welfare and peace of people living in the Halk Vakfı Yaşam Sitesi in Borderüstü, which is the primary duty of the People's Foundation. Since the property of Halk Vakfı Yaşam Sitesi, which is visited above the border, does not belong to the Foundations Administration, unfortunately it does not have much say in its administration and maintenance. Although the People's Foundation is affiliated to the Foundations Administration, the Foundations Administration has very limited powers to find solutions to the problems experienced.

For a long time, the conditions in the aged care home have been far below the criteria. With the spread of Covid 19 all over the world, the places most affected by this have been the elderly care homes, as in the whole world. This situation made the conditions in the Elderly Nursing Home even more difficult. The situation in the nursing home for the elderly is not acceptable, it is a problem that needs immediate attention, and for this, we express that we will be with the TRNC government in every decision to resolve the issue and we will give all kinds of support.

As can be followed from the press, the Foundations Administration has been in constant communication with the TRNC government about the relevant elderly care home in Borderüstü. Whatever the procedure is in elderly nursing homes where the rules are not followed, it should be carried out immediately, taking into account the conditions of the people living inside. It is our state that must guarantee the human right to life.

“The People's Foundation aims to establish a nursing home for poor, homeless and needy old people; It is an annexed foundation registered in order to develop and maintain it, as well as to provide all kinds of subsistence, worship and health services to these people within the nursing home, and the nursing home in the video is a nursing home established as the purpose of this foundation. Attached Foundations are the type of foundation managed by the Board of Trustees. The active directors of the foundation are Melek Fahri Doğan and Fahri Bilgehan. The People's Foundation was warned by us many times, visited the site many times, and did not take the necessary precautions despite all the warnings.
