An iftar program was organized within the scope of YTB's "Bridge of Hearts" project in the TRNC
In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), an iftar program was held as part of the "Bridge of Hearts" project of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).
YTB President Abdullah Eren, Turkey's Ambassador to Nicosia Ali Murat Başceri, Cyprus Foundations Administration (EVKAF) President İbrahim Benter and TRNC citizens attended the program held in the village of Cihangir in the capital Nicosia.
President Eren, in his speech here, stated that they came to the TRNC with hugs from Turkey and said that they visited nearly 2,300 families as the Turkish Embassy in Nicosia, EVKAF and YTB for about 18 days.
Mentioning that they organize iftar organizations in different villages in the TRNC, Eren said, "We have religious and national holidays that make us who we are, make us a nation and connect us. Our common pain and happiness make us a nation." said.
Eren emphasized that Ramadan is one of the most important time periods that bind the Turkish nation together.
Noting that they get more and more excited each time they come to the TRNC, Eren said, "In our eyes, the TRNC deserves all kinds of goodness, the people of the TRNC deserve all kinds of beauty. That's why we love Cyprus so much, Turkey loves Cyprus so much. "Turkey is a country that provides aid to cognate and related communities all over the world, but the TRNC always has a different place for us. I congratulate you on the blessed Eid al-Fitr." he said.
"I hope 'winning hearts' will become a part of our lives"
EVKAF President Benter emphasized the importance of winning hearts and stated that they tried to win the hearts of people during their visits.
Benter stated that they came together with families and children within the scope of the "Bridge of Hearts" project and said, "Hopefully, this 'winning hearts', which is a part of our culture, will be a part of our lives, we will become a healthier society by winning each other's hearts not only during Ramadan but throughout the year." said.
During the visits made before the iftar program, families were given Cypriot buns, Turkish coffee, Memleketim magazine and imsakiye in cloth bags.
During the visits, Hacivat-Karagöz depictions, coloring books and crayons were presented to the children.
After the iftar program, ice cream and cotton candy were also served to the children.
Within the scope of the Bridge of Hearts project, which started on April 10, 2 thousand 565 households were visited in 17 villages of the TRNC, and a fast-breaking meal was organized for a total of 3 thousand 250 people.
The Bridge of Hearts project was carried out by the Independent Performing Arts and Education Association (MUSSED), Cyprus Foundations Administration (EVKAF) and the Turkish Embassy in Nicosia with the support of YTB in the TRNC.
