Cami-i Kebir Larnaca

The mosque, located in Larnaca, Southern Cyprus today, was built by Sultan II. It was converted into a mosque by Seyit Elhaç Mehmet Ağa in 1835/36, which coincided with the reign of Mahmut II, and was registered with the foundation created with the same name.

Restoration took a long time as its minaret slipped badly in the earthquake in 1996.

In the north-west corner of its forecourt is an octagonal fountain, built in 1748 by the Governor of Cyprus, Ebubekir Pasha, who later built chains of wells and aqueducts in Larnaca in the Arpera region to provide fresh drinking water.
