Protocols were signed between EVKAF and EMU to determine the scholarships to be provided to students enrolled in the Conservation and Restoration Master's Program and the details of the academic studies to be carried out with this scholarship.

Two cooperation protocols were signed between the Cyprus Foundations Administration (EVKAF) and Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU).

The protocols were signed by Evkaf General Manager Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer and EMU President Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç.

Within the scope of the first protocol prepared between EVKAF and EMU to determine the scholarships to be provided to students enrolled in the Conservation and Restoration Master's Program and the details of the academic studies to be carried out with this scholarship, EVKAF will provide full scholarships to students enrolled in the Conservation and Restoration Master's Program of the EMU Faculty of Architecture.

Students who receive this scholarship will determine their thesis titles regarding historical structures owned by Evkaf, and within the scope of these theses, the architectural and structural features of these structures that have not been investigated until now will be investigated, their current status will be analyzed, and projects will be prepared for their protection, restoration and reuse. The theses to be prepared aim to eliminate the lack of scientific research, especially on Ottoman-era structures, and thus to obtain more information about the cultural heritage in Cyprus, and to make it possible to share and disseminate this information.

In addition, the articles created from the theses and studies prepared by the students who are granted scholarships within the scope of the protocol will be published by Evkaf in a book or book series, and accessible resources will be created for future generations regarding cultural heritage.

SECOND PROTOCOL

Another protocol signed between Evkaf and EMU includes the shooting of the documentary titled “Kırmızı ile Beyazın Birmekteyiz: 20 Temmuz” (“What did they say for 74”) by EMU TV. In addition, within the scope of the protocol, a “Foundation Works” photo shoot covering Foundation Properties will be carried out by EMU in accordance with the list to be prepared by the Foundations Organization and the Department of Religious Affairs.

EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Kılıç, who took the floor at the protocol signing ceremony, touched on the purpose of the protocols and said, “Such collaborations are a source of pride for us. We value these protocols in fulfilling our responsibilities towards society and bringing our academic studies together with reality. Our work of this kind will continue. I would like to thank Prof. Dr. Tümer once again for his collaboration.”

Evkaf General Manager Prof. Dr. Tümer emphasized that Evkaf will continue its contributions to education and said, “We have provided scholarship support to fifteen students in need at EMU in the past. We are implementing this protocol with the idea of ​​how we can make this support more beneficial to society.”

“We will continue to develop joint projects with EMU in many areas. Our only aim is to leave permanent support and works for TRNC education and culture,” said Prof. Dr. Tümer, thanking Rector Prof. Dr. Kılıç, all Vice Rectors and EMU staff.

EMU Faculty of Architecture Dean Prof. Dr. Alpar Atun thanked Evkaf and EMU administration and said, “It is very valuable to have gained this ground to contribute to our country together with our students within the scope of the Conservation and Restoration Master’s Program.”
