Cyprus Evkaf Administration Visits Ankara

The Director General of the Cyprus Evkaf  Administration, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, and his delegation visited the General Directorate of Evkaf of the Republic of Turkey in Ankara and met with the Director General of Foundations of the Republic of Turkey, Sinan Aksu.

During the meetings, opportunities for cooperation to make foundation services between the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus more effective, transparent, and sustainable were discussed. Assessments were made regarding strengthening existing cooperation between the two institutions and creating new areas of collaboration.

As part of the visit, separate meetings were held with relevant units, primarily focusing on archives, real estate, and digital transformation. These meetings reviewed ongoing work in these areas, facilitated mutual experience sharing, and included assessments on implementing joint practices.

The main agenda items of the meetings included improving real estate management systems, modernizing archiving processes, and digital transformation efforts. Within this framework, the issue of managing the digitized inventory information of foundation properties in Cyprus through a systematic, secure, and accessible archiving system was discussed in detail. Emphasis was placed on practices that would strengthen institutional memory and contribute to the more effective management of foundation properties.

Furthermore, discussions were held on improving the computer infrastructure, developing software and hardware capacities, and sharing technical support and experience to ensure the smooth running of digital processes.

Another important topic discussed was the planning of Ramadan activities. Evaluations were made regarding the coordination of social, cultural, and charitable activities to be carried out in accordance with the spirituality of Ramadan, and increasing the contribution of the foundation tradition to social solidarity.

The General Director of the Cyprus Evkaf Administration, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, thanked the General Director of the Turkish Republic's Foundations, Sinan Aksu, for his gracious hospitality and constructive discussions, stating that the visit would further strengthen cooperation between the two institutions.
