"December 3, International Day of Persons with Disabilities" message from İbrahim Benter: Budget should be allocated for individuals with disabilities
Speaking during the visit of the TRNC Disabled Solidarity Association to the Cyprus Foundations Administration, General Manager of Evkaf stated that they spent 3 million TL for disabled people in 2022 and emphasized that the state and administrators should provide the same sensitivity and budget.
Ömer Suay, President of TRNC Disabled Solidarity Association, visited Cyprus Foundations Administration (Evkaf).
Making a speech during the visit, Ömer Suay thanked the Cyprus Foundations Administration, which as an association is with them 365 days a year, not on certain days of the year.
Pointing out that the most important point is the idea of bringing disabled people to the forefront with what they can do, not what they can't do, Suay thanked the Cyprus Foundations Administration, which made great contributions in defending this idea, and said that they always felt the support provided.
Suay said, “We will continue to do our best to live in a more livable environment in a barrier-free country and to struggle to reach a more barrier-free tomorrow.”
Cyprus Foundations Administration General Manager Prof. Dr. İbrahim Benter, on the other hand, emphasized that when disabled citizens are given the opportunity and the right ground is prepared, there is nothing they cannot achieve by overcoming obstacles, and stated that in the 21st century, civilization is not actually about dressing luxuriously and driving a car, but that it should be lived on equal terms and rights like people.
Stating that as Cyprus Foundations Administration, they fulfilled their moral and material responsibilities and spent 3 million TL on various issues for disabled individuals, both individuals and associations, Benter said that if the state and administrators provide the same sensitivity and budget, there is nothing that our disabled citizens cannot achieve.
