Foundation Tradition Started Centuries Ago by Women, Carried to Today by Gikad
The Cyprus Foundations Administration (Evkaf), which has been carrying out many activities for 452 years to do useful works for the society, has helped to bring another Foundation property to the society by keeping the civilization of goodness handed down to us by our ancestors.
In the foundation building of the Entrepreneurial Women's Development Cooperative (GI-KA KOOP), which the Cyprus Turkish Entrepreneur Women's Association (GIKAD) brought to the society as a sales and training center for the women in the villages to earn income, provided by Evkaf and restored by GI-KA KOOP ( Former Nicosia Train Station) promotion event took place.
Evkaf General Manager Prof. Dr. I congratulate İbrahim Benter, the President of GİKAD, İçim Çağıner Kavuklu, for restoring a not-so-good historical monument in accordance with its original form and making it a place where women from all regions can sell their produce, and the architect Özge Özbekoğlu, who successfully carried out the restoration. The implementation of such an exemplary project is very important for the whole society. In this way, we can both benefit the society and add a nice function to our historical artifacts," he said.
Benter, at least half of the more than 2200 foundations established in Cyprus were founded by our grandmothers, that is, our women. We understand that, as in the past, the importance of our women is extremely important in both daily and social life.
