Ittik Dede Tomb

Ittik Dede Tomb or İsmail Çavuş Tomb is a martyr's tomb located in the Selimiye District of Nicosia, south of the Sultan Mahmut II Library.

There is no document regarding the identity of İttik Dede, who gave his name to the tomb and is believed to be a "martyr", and the information about him is based on rumors. According to the most common rumor, Ittik Dede, who was born in the Peloponnese, was an Ottoman soldier who participated in the Cyprus Campaign and was martyred in street clashes in 1570 where the tomb is located today.

It is mentioned by this name because the Ottoman soldiers who were martyred in Cyprus were called "Pushing", which means "Lost".
