Mehmetçik Mosque
The mosque, one of the unique and most historical architectures of the island of Cyprus, is located in the Mehmetçik village of İskele.
It is known that the mosque, which is also important with its historical and unique architecture, was built in 1865 during the Ottoman period.
The mosque, which carries the deep traces of Ottoman architecture with its stone construction, was built by the soldiers in the village in 1973 and by the Cyprus Foundations Administration in 1914. It has been restored with the contributions of the Relief Committee.
