Acting President and President of the Republic Assembly, Zorlu Töre, visited the General Director of Cyprus Foundation Administration (Evkaf), Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer.

During the visit, Speaker Töre expressed his confidence that Tümer would take the office he had taken over to higher levels and preserve the spirit of the foundation in the best possible way, wishing him success in his new position.

Referring to many foundation lands remaining in the South, Töre mentioned that especially the lands of Maraş reflected a historical reality by being built on foundation lands.

Tümer pointed out that there are around 3500 acres of foundation property in the British bases area, emphasizing that foundation properties cannot be transferred or sold in any way.

Tümer stated that foundations play an important role in distributing economic balance and welfare in society, and that the income obtained is spent to support the poor, contributing throughout history to the establishment of social justice.
