"Such a disclosure is an unconscious revealing of historical facts that have been covered up until now."
It is obvious that the Turkish Cypriot Foundations, which have a legal basis throughout the historical process in Cyprus and have been protected by Constitutional registration until today, have been victimized by the illegal interventions they have been subjected to until today.
Our Long-Term EVKAF Struggle
In addition to the ongoing interventions of the Greek Cypriot Orthodox church and its administrators against the Turkish Cypriot Foundations using illegal methods in the 1821s, the interventions that continued after the British Colonial Administration occupied the Island after the 1878 Cyprus Convention agreement and in our recent history, the establishment of the Republic of Cyprus in 1960. The attempts to usurp, plunder and expropriate Turkish Foundation properties, which were further deepened afterwards, are established before history; All these actions are essentially an indication of the EFFORTS TO SURVIVE THE EVKAF STRUGGLE THROUGH LONG-TERM RESISTANCE. It is certain that the rescue of the Turkish Cypriot Foundations, which were faced with all the unfair interventions that the Church, the British Colonial administration and the Greek administration occupying the Republic of Cyprus deemed necessary, to the Turkish Cypriot Foundations, undoubtedly necessitates such a struggle. Attempts by the Greek Cypriot Orthodox Church to occupy the Foundation's property; The attitude and actions of "confiscating, exploiting and managing by law" against the Turkish Foundations on the island of Cyprus, which was governed by the British colonial regime, do not mean anything other than a blow to the essence of the understanding and sanctity of the Foundations; When the management of the Foundations Administration was placed under the control of the British Foundations Delegates, the attempts of cooperation with the high-ranking officials of the Church to plunder the Foundations' properties led to the loss of many of our Foundations; It has caused our foundation to become unjustly impoverished.
Turkish Cypriot Foundations, Our Ancestor Heirloom
Our ancestral Turkish Cypriot Foundations, which are stable with their registered Foundation Deeds and clearly identified additional buildings, unfortunately cannot be expressed in real numbers today. Hundreds of our lost and delisted Foundation properties are only mentioned, but they cannot be repossessed; Therefore, it is obvious that it is not possible to fulfill the charitable services that our ancestors, who established foundations, wanted to be done on behalf of humanity with their Foundation Deeds. It is an undeniable fact that our Ancestral Foundations, which are the most realistic and useful, have a vital role in the survival of the Turkish society, its existence on this island and its ability to have a say here. The loss of Turkish Foundation properties through illegal practices should be considered as an injustice and a blow to the national existence of the Turkish Cypriot Community, both financially and morally.
Turkish Foundations Uncovered in Paphos
The Committee, which was established in the Greek Cypriot part of Southern Cyprus and controls the Turkish Cypriot Foundations, ignores the injustices that Turkish Foundations have suffered in the historical process and gives good news and revealing information about the emergence of some Foundation property through the press, through surprise appearances, is nothing more than a waste of time. . The Turkish Cypriot Property unit affiliated with the Paphos District Governorate stated that 51 Turkish Cypriot Cemeteries were identified in the Paphos district; In addition, there are 34 mosques; The news published in the Filelefteros newspaper that 5 mosques were included in the scope of antiquities is quite surprising and interesting. The Turkish Cypriot Property Unit should identify the Turkish Foundation properties that have been lost in the historical process, one by one; It would be more appropriate for it to clearly reveal how and by whom our demolished mosques and educational institutions were destroyed and to raise awareness among the world public opinion. It is not possible that 51 Turkish Cypriot cemeteries as well as 34 Mosques have not been seen or known in the records until today. Such a revelation means nothing more than the unconscious revealing of a historical fact that has been covered up until now.
