Es-Seyyid Hüseyin Efendi, one of the grandsons of the famous saint Abdullah Erzincani who lived during the reign of Yıldırım Bayezid, was from Bursa. One night, at the exit of Ulu Mosque, an old woman approached him. said:

-For the sake of this blessed night, will you listen to me a little bit?

-Tell me, mom, what would you say?

-My son is in prison. But I am a mother. I want to see him. But they are causing difficulties.

-What do you want from me?

If you fall in front of me, maybe they will show my son.

The woman's two eyes were two fountains. Thereupon, es-Sayyid Hüseyin Efendi went directly to the Bursa judge. After the kadı master gave the necessary permission, the scene they saw in the prison where they went with the old mother impressed Hüseyin Efendi. The pale skins and sunken bodies of the prisoners stimulated their sense of compassion. He returned and said to the authorities there:

– Gentlemen… Even if these poor people are guilty, they are already paying the penalty for their crimes by being imprisoned. There is also the guilt of leaving them completely neglected. If you accept, I will try to help you as much as I can…

The headmaster said, "Okay" to this noble man's noble proposal. Es-Sayyid Hüseyin Efendi, who had made his decision at that moment, had no thesis about tomorrow, he laid the foundations of charity that would send all kinds of food and clothing to these unfortunate people, who were caught in a whirlwind of luck, especially on blessed days and nights: he established a foundation.
