Have you ever studied the "Goodness Project" of the Evkaf Administration? What is the meaning of this project? What does it serve? Why was it founded? What are their aims? The answer to all these questions lies within the depth and scope of that project.

In fact, the word “Goodness” constitutes a concept of goodwill and help. When we consider this concept broadly, the following idea comes to mind. “The basis of this project is benevolence in the context of humanity, conscience and universal values.” I think that's the basic idea.

Since the Ottoman period, 4500 foundations have been established and these foundations have completely served benevolence and people in need.

When we go back to the old years, many charitable institutions were established by the Ottoman sultan and his dynasty, and a helping hand was extended to the poor.

Women's shelters start from those ages. The women's shelters that date back to the present are also a part of that “Goodness Project”.

How about we say…

As they say, "Do the good, throw it into the sea, if the fish don't know, the public will know", the deep meaning in that parable gives a message of goodness. It says "Do good".

In fact, goodness is a feeling formed in the instinctive structure of human beings. When that feeling turns into a thought, the act of kindness manifests itself. Let it go… Some people's insides are as black as their faces. He always thinks evil and lives for his own interests. The important thing is that you live and be sensitive not only for yourself but also for people in need.

There are many guiding and message-giving publications published by the Foundations Administration. One of these publications is a small notebook. That notebook is called the "Diary of Kindness".

In other words, when you write down the good deeds you do in your daily life in the historical flow, and when that time is exhausted, it brings with it the question "What good did I do?" You make an accounting of the good deeds you have done in a place and question yourself.

Let's take a look at some of the charity operations carried out by the Foundations right now…

⁃ school clothes, English books, stationery and mask aid to needy students.

⁃ Baby formula, diapers, bottles and baby shampoos.

⁃ Repairing the homes of families in need.

⁃ Again, distribution of clothes and shoes to people in need.

⁃ Contribution to environmental studies.

⁃ Explaining goodness by giving serial conferences to primary school students.

⁃ Organizing handicrafts and cultural activities for children by experts.

⁃ Nest building activity for birds.

And hundreds more

As you can see in the “Goodness Project” of the Foundations, there is everything. In that context, the diary given to you should be your logbook like a captain.

There are volunteer charity representatives in the regions in the Foundations Administration. These people are simply teaching people goodness, destroying their wickedness, and teaching them to be truly human.

When you scan the sections of your life, of course, you have also had your own personal goodness. Who knows… Maybe you grabbed our visually impaired brother who wanted to cross one side of the road, and took him to the other side of the road. You gave your seat to an elderly person standing in a bus.

We encounter many dramatic events from the reality of life. I remember… One evening in Istanbul, I went inside to buy hot bread from the bakery. A little boy was staring so hungrily at the bread in the window that I asked him.

"What happened son? Are you going to buy bread?"

That poor kid reminded me of sad movies.

“Brother, I have no money. I have a sick mother and five younger siblings at home. Here I am looking at the warm breads”

When he said that, I bought him exactly ten pieces of bread and put them in his hands, and I put a hundred lira in his pocket. I don't know… There are many used children in Istanbul. But this was not like them. I thought at that moment.

“The important thing is to extend my helping hand to this child and do him a favor.”

In other words, I think it is a virtue to contribute as much as possible to the charity project of Evkaf. In short, do the good, if the servant does not know, Allah knows.
