When we look at our history, it is seen that foundations are the most effective institutional means in the hands of the state both in ensuring friendship, brotherhood, cooperation and rapprochement between social groups and in shaping the public according to certain social criteria.

The Ottomans benefited widely from the foundations that people established voluntarily in order to prevent excessive differentiation in the level of social welfare by concentrating the wealth in certain hands and thus deteriorating the social balance. Everyone who could afford had a charitable work built, those who could not afford it either had a school or mosque repaired or contributed materially-moral-physically to its repair, and those who could not do this at least took care of the construction or repair of a fountain.

Today, if it is possible to support the poor, the elderly, the disabled, the sick, and students, and build schools, hospitals, mosques, it is understood how important the foundations established by our grandparents are.
