Today, we commemorate three significant turning points that shaped our history.

With the Ottoman conquest of Cyprus in 1571, the foundations of the charitable civilization that has flourished on the island for centuries were laid; a profound legacy of goodness, ranging from education and health to worship and social welfare, was entrusted to future generations.

The Turkish Resistance Organization, established in 1958, became a symbol of unity and determination in the struggle for existence of the Turkish Cypriot people.

The Security Forces Command, established in 1976, continues to undertake an important task for the security and peace of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

On the anniversary of August 1st, we commemorate the conquest of Cyprus, the establishment of our charitable civilization, the founding of the Turkish Resistance Organization and the Security Forces Command with respect and gratitude; and we remember all the heroes who served these lands with mercy, gratitude, and appreciation.
