The “Bookmarks” exhibition, organised through a collaboration between the Cyprus Evkaf Administration and the Yunus Emre Institute, recently opened its doors to visitors with an opening ceremony held at the Lefkoşa Bedesten.

Featuring a selection of bookmarks from the private collections of the late Nazif Bozatlı and Necla Bozatlı, gathered from different countries around the world, the exhibition was curated by Mustafa Kemal Kasapoğlu. Bringing together this special collection from diverse geographies, the exhibition highlights different cultures and stories through the art of bookmarks.

The exhibition also provided a meaningful opportunity to commemorate the late Nazif Bozatlı, who made valuable contributions to the Cyprus Evkaf Administration over many years. Having undertaken the translation of numerous works belonging to the institution and contributed to the promotion of our cultural heritage through his research, Bozatlı is remembered with respect and gratitude. We continue to preserve and honour the valuable legacy he left to our culture.

The exhibition was opened with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, Director of the Cyprus Evkaf Administration; Abdullah Aktaş, Coordinator of the Lefkoşa Yunus Emre Institute; Necla Bozatlı; and Mustafa Kemal Kasapoğlu, the exhibition’s curator. It will be open to visitors at the Lefkoşa Bedesten until 30 October, on weekdays from 09:00 to 12:00.

We invite all art and culture enthusiasts to discover this special collection up close.
