Two Key Reports by the Turkic Academy Presented in Nicosia
The presentation of reports prepared by the Turkic Academy was held in Nicosia on 12 October 2026, in cooperation with the Cyprus Evkaf Administration, the TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Turkic Academy.
Bringing together representatives of the Turkic world, academics, and distinguished guests, the programme featured discussions on the reports entitled “Turkic Economies 2025 – Green Economy Transition” and “Agricultural Policy in Turkic States – Regional Overview 2025.”
Speaking at the opening of the programme, Director General of the Cyprus Evkaf Administration, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, highlighted the importance of joint efforts to protect natural resources, promote sustainable production, and strengthen food security. He emphasised the importance of transforming the knowledge and experience of the Turkic world into tangible cooperation.
Referring to the 455-year-old waqf tradition, Tümer noted that the waqf civilisation is founded on an approach that places people, social benefit, and responsibility towards future generations at its heart. In line with this understanding, he also shared the objectives of the “100,000 Olive Saplings” project, which aims to increase agricultural production, enhance the value of the land, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
The programme also highlighted the importance of collective action through İsmail Gaspıralı’s well-known motto, “Unity in language, thought, and action.” It was expressed that the sharing of scientific knowledge and inter-institutional cooperation would help pave the way for new partnerships.
As the Cyprus Evkaf Administration, we attach great importance to strengthening ties across the Turkic world, sharing knowledge and experience, and supporting initiatives that will benefit future generations, drawing strength from our shared history.
